Man Behind Dacia Logan Tasked With Creating Renault’s New US$5,500 India Car

The Indian new car market is far from negligible, accounting for 2.6 million registrations annually. Suzuki, with its Maruti subsidiary, offers cars starting below 250,000 rupees (US$5,600) and practically rules the market with 1 million sales per year.

Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn is determined to get a bigger slice of the pie than the measly 3 percent the two brands command with their models that are made at the local Chennai plant.

Formula 1: Indian Grand Prix Race Report

You lose some, you win some. Even McLaren with its Honda-powered MP4/4 driven by Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, who completely dominated the 1988 season, failed to win all 16 races.

After 11 straight wins, it lost to Ferrari. It then continued its streak, claiming a startling 15 wins out of 16 starts but by a strange twist of fate, the one it lost was on Scuderia’s home ground and, at the same time, the first Italian GP after Enzo Ferrari’s death…

Renault Launches Somewhat Prettier and More Luxurious Nissan Versa as the New Scala in India

Looks aren’t one of the Nissan Versa's (or as it's called in other markets around the world, Sunny) strong points. The fact that is heavily based on the Micra sub-compact featuring odd proportions and small wheels doesn't help either.

Nevertheless, Renault's designers were able to make their version of the Versa / Sunny, the new Indian market Scala, look a tad more presentable by applying a few styling tricks.

Ferrari Collector Convinces Maranello to Build Him a One-of-a-Kind 599 GTO Coupe

As far as hobbies go, collecting V12-engined Ferraris certainly beats golf or fly-fishing – provided, of course, that you have the means. Cheerag Arya, or CA as he prefers to be called, is one of the lucky few.

CA, who was born in India, has spent much of his time in the US and for the last six years live in Dubai where he has established a new manufacturing plant at Ras al Khaimah, one of the seven states that constitute the United Arab Emirates.

Google Maps Gone Wrong? Street View Car Found Wrecked in India

It's not every day that you stumble upon an abandoned Google StreetView Camera Car in the middle of nowhere. And since you are bound to ask, by 'nowhere' we mean down a rocky hill in the Leh district of northern India.

Custom shops from India rarely make headlines, but when they do, they definitely do it in style (or so to speak…).

Coincidentally (or not), Tata Motors is the owner of Land Rover having acquired the British automaker along with Jaguar from the Ford Group in 2008.

Fiat Could Break up with Tata Motors to go with Suzuki in India, Says Analyst

Earlier this month, the Fiat Group announced that it is abandoning its network deal with Tata Motors in India after six years and plans to sell its cars in the country through its own dealerships from now on.

While Fiat said that it will continue its joint-venture manufacturing activities with Tata Motors in Asia’s third-largest auto market, some analysts are predicting that the Italian company may opt for a full-fledged divorce, which would allow it to pay court to Suzuki.
