The original 1966 Batmobile, built on the 1955 Lincoln Futura Concept by George Barris for the campy television series from the same decade, will go on sale next January at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, but we all know that unless you're a 1 percenter, you probably can't afford it.

Of course, there are plenty of alternatives in the form of accurate replicas like this one from Fiberglass Freaks that we had the opportunity to ride back in 2010, but it will still cost you somewhere around $150,000.

The original 1966 Batmobile based on the 1954 Lincoln Futura Concept remains in the hands of its creator, George Barris, but over the years, many enthusiasts have built replicas of the car (see CarScoop's ride in one here).

Holy Flabbergast! German Batmobile Begs for a Bat…Repellent

Not all Batmobiles are made equal and this principle surely applies to the Bat car listed for sale on the German version of eBay.

The pictures of the DIY Batmobile more or less speak for themselves with the seller adding that a "very extravagant and futuristic artist and designer" built the strange looking contraption, and that it has won "several trophies at events".

The Dark Knight Suffers the Consequences of Apple's iPhone 5 Map Flop

What could be more frustrating for Batman than his archenemy, the psychopathic clown, The Joker?

Well, how about trying to navigate through the dark streets of Gotham city on the Batpod, all while using the Apple iPhone 5's botched maps service app to reach and save the life of his beloved Rachel?

Naturally, this never happened in the movie but some creative folks over at YouTube made a funny parody of Apple's iPhone 5 map debacle using scenes from the 2008 Hollywood blockbuster "The Dark Knight".

New Dark Knight Rises Trailer Offers a Glimpse of Batman's and Catwoman's Latest Toys

Quick, to the Batmobile, but which One, the 1966 or the 1989 Model?

Ah, the never-ending battle of which is the best Batmobile of all time. A new webshow called 'Super Power Beat Down' has brought together two of the most famous Batmobiles from the whacky 1966-1968 Batman television series and from Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film.

Before you get overly excited and if you haven't figured it out already, these aren't the original cars but replicas – just like the 1966 Batmobile we took a ride in back in 2010.

The builder gave some initial specs on the two cars. The '66 is built on a C4 Corvette platform and is powered by an L98 V8 allegedly pushing out somewhere between 300 to 325-horses. It is claimed that it tops out at around 150-160mph (241-257km/h) and can complete the quarter mile in "high 9's or low 10's".
